Position Summary:

Dine|Amic Group is seeking a Chef de Cuisine for our new venue Barrio opening in River North! 

Applicants must be able to work with a highly functioning kitchen crew that can deliver. They must have good advance planning, great utilization, thoughtful maintenance of the work environment, and a can-do attitude while maintaining a great relationship with the FOH and the guests.

The Chef de Cuisine helps ensure the skillful execution of all menu items - honoring the classics, alongside creative daily and seasonal dishes, oversee the ordering, preparation & storage of great products, develop, coach and retain a great staff, create an informed environment, that promotes individual and team success and growth, develop enticing and regionally influenced menu specials, maintain a professional, creative, fun and safe work environment, the restaurant meet a responsible food & labor budget that delivers on quality, while honoring the bottom line, and adhere to local Health Department's regulations and earn excellent performance on inspections.

 This position requires someone with time-management, communication, planning and delegation skills. A high volume setting with the potential to advance. Must be effective communicating by phone, email and in person.

As a Chef de Cuisine you must be able to motivate and inspire the back of the house employees and make sure they deliver our amazing food to each guest in a timely manner.

 In addition, our Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for:

- Managing the BOH staff and training current/new staff

- Upholding all health department safety standards

- Providing an amazing guest experience

- Managing food, beverage, and labor costs


Experience and Education Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience.

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a fine dining establishment.
  • A passion for quality and respect for the customer.

  • Experience using POS systems.

  • Must be able to comfortably be on feet majority of the day and lift 40 pounds.

  • Computer proficient, able to use MS Word and Excel.
All local food handler permits must be current.
